Hi Dancers,

I have a full schedule of new classes starting in the next two weeks: West Coast Swing on Mondays, Nightclub two-step and rumba on Tuesdays, East Coast swing on Wednesdays as well as a beginner ballroom mix and East Coast Swing on Thursdays. As for day classes, there is line dancing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Salsa on Wednesdays. All the details are listed below and on my website: SwingJamie.com

The big social dance opportunity this weekend is the Holiday Dance at the Richard Black Center. See details below.

If anyone wants to dance all night Sunday, I will be road-tripping to Boston, leaving around sunset and returning around sunrise Monday morning. (603-359-5166)

SOCIAL DANCE CALENDAR:

December 28 (Friday) Pulse Prophets are playing funk/rock/raggae at Salt Hill from 9 - 12:30 PM. Small dance floor, but great atmoshpere and usually plenty of dancers. On the mall in downtown Lebanon.

December 29 (Saturday) Holiday Dance in Hanover, featuring DJ Mary Guerin: 8 to 11:30 p.m., Richard W. Black Community and Senior Center, 48 Lebanon St. Ballroom, Country and Western, East and West Coast Swing, Hustle, Latin, Salsa, Tango, Two-step and more.Demonstrations by local instructors. Sponsored by Upper Valley Dance Club. $10 per person. Call (603) 863-6519 for information.

LIST OF UPCOMING DANCE CLASSES:

Jan. 8 - Feb. 5 (Tuesdays): Line Dancing for adults of all ages, Richard Black Center, Hanover, NH, 11 AM. Five week session: $25. Register at the door or call Gail at 603-643-5315. This is an ongoing class that repeats approximately every 5 weeks with some new and some familiar dances.

Jan. 8 - Feb. 26 (Tuesdays): Rumba & Nightclub 2-Step; Beginner at 7 PM, Experienced at 8 PM. These dances share the same rhythm, but fit different styles of music. Both are slow and romantic. These are some of the easiest dances to learn and very appropriate for new dancers. Odd Fellows Building, Pleasant Street, Claremont, NH. 8 week session, couples only, $150/couple for all 8 weeks. The fee entitles you to take one class or both. (Register by calling Jamie at 603-359-5166.)

Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28, Feb. 4, 11 (Mondays) Beginner West Coast Swing at 7 PM, Experienced West Coast Swing at 8 PM, Richard Black Center, Hanover, NH. Six week session. $55 Hanover Resident/$65 Non-Resident. Register at class.

Jan. 9 to whenever (Wednesdays) Salsa in Norwich at 12 Noon; A lunch hour of advanced beginner level salsa. At this point the class ratio is roughly two women to each man, so we could use a couple more men. (Sorry ladies.) Call for details: 603-359-5166.

Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30 (Wednesdays): Beginner Single Count East Coast Swing, 7:30 - 8:30 PM; By reservation only. Limited to four couples. If you are interested and need a partner, let me know. Taught at my studio on Main Street in Enfield. Parking behind the library/town hall. Call me at 603-359-5166.

Jan. 17 - March 20 (Thursdays): 10 weeks of a ballroom mix for beginners. You'll get a sampling of foxtrot, waltz, rumba, and salsa. 7 PM. These classes are taught at the Dartmouth gym through the FLIP program: 603-646-3903. Classes are open to students and adults from the community.

Jan. 17 - March 20 (Thursdays): 10 weeks of beginner East Coast Swing/Jitterbug (both single count and triple count). 8 PM. These classes are taught at the Dartmouth gym through the FLIP program: 603-646-3903. Classes are open to students and adults from the community.
